The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance Launches ‘Blockchain Academy’

As per an announcement published on 26th Nov., the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) is launching what it claims to be nation’s first ‘Blockchain Academy.’

The BIBF was founded in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 1981 by the support of the Specific Council for Vocational Training. The institute is an unregistered non-profit semi-government body that gives training in the financial sectors.

The establishment of the Blockchain Academy purportedly signifies the nation’s first blockchain professional qualification program offering. The training program is intended to prepare participants to earn the international qualification of Certified Blockchain Professional C|BP and was created by the BIBF and Dubai-based training firm MyLearning Key.

The C|BP Certification purportedly includes three competency areas in blockchain technology; development, strategy, and implementation. BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaik stated that the organization introduced The C|BP Certification purportedly includes three competency areas in blockchain tech; development, implementation, and strategy. BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh said that the organization began the Blockchain Professional Qualification to “support the increasing requirement for skilled blockchain professionals.”

The Head of IT, Project Management and Operations, Mr. Ahmed Naeemi, stated that the new initiative intends to help businesses and organizations as they embrace new technologies like blockchain.

In September, the government of Bahrain emphasized the importance of blockchain tech. for the nation’s economy further urging cybersecurity vigilance. Mr. Abdulhussain Mirza, Bahrain’s minister of electricity and water affairs, asserted that “technologies like blockchain take us a huge step forward in finding a safe way to facilitate transactions.”

As reported earlier, multisectoral blockchain company Bitfury collaborates with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics to develop an accelerator for blockchain projects. In addition to helping build blockchain projects, the university will implement educational programs devoted to “training specialists who can build innovative projects using digital technologies in a short time.”
