As per an official press release, the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S10 will include storage for private digital currency keys.
Samsung announced the launch of its new smartphone in San Francisco, Seoul, and London, which incorporates the Samsung Knox function.
According to the press release:
“Samsung Galaxy S10 is built with defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-powered mobile services.”
As per the press release, the S10 comes with an upgraded triple camera system that features “advanced intelligence” the ability to charge other smartphones wirelessly, 6GB and 128GB storage on the base model and many other features.
Besides information about the Knox solution were not immediately available, and Samsung did not quickly respond to a request for comment.
However, the Galaxy S10 joins a growling line of smartphones designed with cryptocurrencies in mind, including Sirin Labs’ Finney and HTC’s EXODUS 1, both of which announced in 2018. Although, Samsung is the largest phone manufacturer to unveil a blockchain technology feature in a smartphone to date, and unlike either of its competitors, may see the most extensive distribution.
The Galaxy is Samsung’s flagship series, with four devices under its S10 umbrella, aims to fill as wide a market as possible. In contrast, the Finney can only be bought using the Sirin token, and the HTC EXODUS 1 can just be purchased using bitcoin or ether.
