F1 Champion Fernando Alonso Adopts Kodak’s Blockchain-Powered Platform

Fernando Alonso a Two-time Formula One racing champion is adopting Kodak’s blockchain-based platform to safeguard his image rights.

WENN Digital Inc., Kodak’s partner in developing KODAKCoin, a new blockchain based system to save and manage image copyrights, declared on 28th June that it had signed an agreement with Fernando Alonso to protect his professional and personal images and videos.

As per the Press Release, this agreement will KodakOne “the exclusive image registration, protection and license-monitoring solution” for  Fernando Alonso’s images and video. The system will permit his fans to access the platform, which isn’t live yet, to upload, register and secure their photos and videos of Fernando Alonso while being “rewarded.”

Fernando Alonso said:

“We live in a world run by content distribution across various channels, especially during such large events as F1 and WEC. I’m very thrilled to know that I can reward my fans and professional photographers for their creativity and that a single platform can protect the content they produce.”

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at WENN Digital, Mr. Benedikt Dohnanyl, said the partnership has been under negotiations for several months, and that the company may start forging similar alliances with other clients soon.

He included:

“We are currently getting a lot of requests and interest from global brands, content creators and rights holders in these various fields, to whom IP protection is of particular concern.”
