Coinbase, one of the popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the world has decided to provide free tokens to the public. The exchange has planned to pay the public with cryptocurrencies while they learn more about them.

On Wednesday the company announced that it has planned to launch the new platform named ‘Coinbase Earn.’ The platform will allow users to earn 0x tokens by completing several educational tasks including watching videos and taking quizzes. The platform is all set to launch, and users can sign up to a waiting list.

According to the press release, the educational content is freely accessible. It is also regardless of whether a user is part of the Earn platform or not.

Coinbase launched the Earn platform after surveying people about knowledge on cryptocurrencies. The survey found that one of the biggest barriers for people to explore a new digital asset is the lack of knowledge about that asset.

The press release included that the company spoke to many people and came to know that they have a strong desire to begin learning about new and different crypto assets beyond bitcoin. But they don’t know where to start.

Coinbase has considered Earn as an alternative to mining or purchasing cryptocurrencies for users interested in acquiring tokens. Users can earn tokens through their smartphone or laptop.

The press release added:

“Mining cryptocurrency typically means high setup costs and technical knowledge, while buying cryptocurrency requires disposable income to exchange for cryptocurrencies, which limits access.”

As of now, the Earn platform allows users to earn 0x tokens. The exchange said that it intends to include more content and support for other cryptocurrencies in the future.
